Away on official business

WOW!! It's been a really really long time since I last touched this blog. So what have I been up to after Christmas? Well, I have been extremely busy with my BB commitment in the Sharity Gift Box(SGB). I signed up with Zheng Jie about a month ago, and we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.

We were both put in charge of the warehouse operations, and I learnt that we were the only 2 official Primers assigned to be warehouse ICs'. A few other primers also joined us for these 5 days of tiring work: Kelvin Ng,Ming Hui(like a girl's name right? :P), Esmond, Kelvin Lin and Chin Boon. Kelvin Lin and Chin Boon were already experienced in the various operations for the SGB, but the rest of us were all clueless on how the procedures and protocols were, so we had a hard time adapting to the conditions and to the huge number of Boys on the first day.

Subsequent days were just as tiring and exhausting, both physically and mentally, but I guess the whole team made it through happily and I must say new friendships have been forged, and it was a really great time getting to know so many people and their backgrounds. Hahahaha, who knows, maybe next year Ops team?? No idea yet, but maybe only part-time helper.

Anyways, it was a really good experience for all of us, and especially for me, because I finally know how various operations run, and how to control Boys. So even if I don't get the President's Award, I guess I can at least take away the wonderful experience this year, and continue to learn more from my friends.
So now its time to get a REALLY well-deserved sleep before the new year, and once again, I won't be home, hahahaha, ah well.

Happy New Year everyone!!!
2008 is a new year, with new beginnings and new experiences!! =D

FINALLY!!!! A good time to just sit down and blogggg! How long has it been? Almost a whole week since I last updated, and a lot of stuff has happened.
When I last left off, I was in my company's drill camp at the newly renovated campus. Really neat renovations were done, and of course, we were one of the few CCAs' to use the facilities. The camp's main theme was 'Discipline', and the Boys were all lacking that when they first arrived, but slowly throughout the camp, by whacking them and playing with their mind, we started to see improvements. Daniel, Gabriel and I got to know the Sec 1 and 2 Boys much much better, although their drill standards are not up to par yet, I believe we have planted that 'discipline' seed in all of them, and I know they'll start to grow from there.
Next was the SGB closing ceremony(even though it's still going on -_-'') at VivoCity on Saturday, sadly that was my last day of camp, and the drill test as well, but Dan and I couldn't stay, so had to leave for Vivo. But I heard there weren't any failures in the test, so all my effort with 2 particular Sec 1 Boys didn't go to waste. =)

Anyways, it was good to get out of school and into a shopping mall, and Vivo was a good place. The GOH for the event was Dr Ng Eng Hen, 2nd Minister for defence and something else, I forgot, hahahaha. Anyway met quite a lot of old friends from Primers Challenge, and we just got a chance to catch up since we last saw each other. I got to meet a few more new friends and we all had a great time there.

On the way home, I met Mr Chow(Mr G)!! Hahaha, he was quote: "fulfilling my fatherly duties" by bringing his kids and wife out for a walk through Vivo. Then Dan and I headed to Bugis to do a little shopping, and as tired as we were after the camp and all, we did quite a bit of buying, and I'm satisfied with what I bought, muahahahahaha.

Sunday was another good day, with the GKidz Christmas service. We were all seated right at the back, so the guys were all distracted, and didn't pay attention at all to the skit. Hahaha, ah well, boys will be boys I say. Headed for service after that, then went to Aloha Changi for the BB+Youth Church Camp. It wasn't half bad honestly. I was looking forward to it, and indeed it was fun and all of us had a great time. I think I lost my voice already, hahahaha, oh well.

Now its very late already, and I really need to get rest for the later part of the day. So enjoy what's left of the holidays and have a wonderful time people!! =)

PS:Happy Birthday Isaac!!! God Bless you bro!!

The world on edge

Started out with a good day with the opening of Clementi Woods Park(CWP), which, honestly, is not a very prominent park with the locals. So anyways, just discovered that our school principal is a very sociable guy and a very easy person to make casual conversation with, and of course, with a really good memory. I was his 'tourguide' around CWP, and because he was so easy to talk to, I just talked naturally, if not, I would have stuttered and talked really fast. Really glad I got to have this experience, and on a side note: there are quite a lot of people in my course(even though annual intake is only 60)

I can say that today is a rather bad day for quite a number of people. mainly because everyone seems on edge today.Well, my mum was quite touchy because of who knows what reason, so when a little thing bad happens, she just flares up and I have to on the recieveing end of it, hahahaha, ah well, I'm already used to it, so it doesn't really bother me, just that it brings down the atmosphere.

Oh well, now I cannot do much because I need to prepare for the most hectic 2 weeks of my life. Out of the house majority of the time, and spending a lot of time running around, hahahaha, ah well, I guess I got myself into quite a busy situation, but it's ok, just get it over and done with. So I doubt there'll be anything happening here until the end of 2007, so here's wishing all of you an advanced Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!! =)

PS: WenXiang and myself are on Channel U!!! Straits Times as well!!!!(Edited as of 10:10pm,21/12/2007)

Hi all!!
Now I'm extremely tired out from 3 straight days of going out, while nursing my runny nose and cough at the same time. X.X
Yesterday went out with Yang Yi to get some of his guitar accessories, while I too got a new strap myself, which put me back $30. Then we headed over to his house to jam for a while, and to also check out the BBQ area, because that was where we had our BBQ today. We both exchanged guitar techniques and I learnt quite a bit from him, and vice versa, and it was a good and short session with him.

Today started out as per normal, getting up and all, but Wen Xiang, Nisa and myself had to go to Clementi Woods to go through a PDA training session for a special opening on the 19th of Dec. It was a really good experience, because it was the first time we got to touch a PDA, and it didn't disappoint at all. It was cool to use it, and the GPS system was extremely neat, because at any one given time, we had at least 7 satellites tracking our movements. Sweet!!!
After that went to KAP Mac to do a bit of the LD project, it was a rather short meeting and group gathering, but it was sort of productive nonetheless, so it wasn't a total waste of time.
The BBQ was not too bad actually, although the turnout was rather small, but it was more intimate and everyone got to socialise a bit better. As my company's Primers' Chairman, I had the responsibility of bringing everyone together, and I don't think I did a really good job, but hey, it was the best I had. Honestly, I should have mixed around with the junior Primers more, but I guess there'll be other chances. As for now, I just want to slowly get to know each of them individually and build up the morale of the whole group. So I'll leave you with pictures of the BBQ, enjoy!

From left, Wei Qiang, Joon Leng,Vernon & Ji Hoe. Our 'firestarters' for the BBQ.

Our dear host for today's BBQ, Yang Yi, with that look which demands respect. *Cough!*

Ah yesss, one of the Big Four Primers, hahaha, John Tay, with his award-winning smile.

Peace!!! With an extra peace 'piece' on the right. :P

*Cough cough* Wha, what? Cute??

Brothers for life! =)

Daniel and I came up with this, Love BB 19th!!! =D

Wooooooo!!! Good day today and excellent weather we had today as well.
Fieldtrip to Bollywood Farms wasn't too bad I have to say. I wasn't looking forward to the report writing and note taking throughout the whole trip, but turned out it was quite manageable. No doubt we had to write quite a bit of stuff, but it was fun as well. Going around the farm learning about so many plants and the way they're being propagated and stuff.
A lot to absorb in about 2 hours, but it was an experience nonetheless, and the weather was exceptionally good to us, cool but not raining, and with just the right amount of light.
I bet everyone had a wonderful time there, and I believe all of us learnt at least a few things today, so it was not just any fieldtrip.

So after that, the gang went to celebrate MJ's 18th birthday!! Hahahaha, finally 18 years old bro! Had a good meal with everyone at Marina Square, and laughed A WHOLE LOT. Had a great time eating in each other's company. Sadly my nose was really irritating, so I had to make a few visits to the washroom. -_-''
Ah well, at least now I'm home, so no more worries.

Go enjoy your 18th birthday MJ!! and that new 5610 as well!! HAHAHAHAHA.

Upon request from Ben a few weeks ago, this is a really good and effective personality test for everyone, especially those who have a lot of projects to do almost every single week.
This is called the DISC Test, and many corporate businesses use this to access their employees and their working habits.
For us students, it is also really useful because we are faced with so many projects from school and CCA and stuff like that, so I personally find it very helpful.

DISC Test.

Try it out, it won't take very long, just a bit of your brain juice, that's all.
I'm a Steady person, with a functional Compliant side as well. In simple words, I'm an SC. What's yours??

Saturday, December 08, 2007

Alright, just reached home from a tiring day, well, half a day to be exact. I just rested at home for the morning, mainly because I hardly get a chance to rest on a weekend nowadays.

My mum was reading the newspapers and she was reminded about GardenTech 2007 (aka Hortpark to us HLM people). So I agreed and went with her, but first, I dragged her to Scape, where Ben had his stall(Dresssy) set up for this mini bazarre. And just nice, Nisa arrived just moments before we came, so I met up with Ben and Nisa to chat for a while, then the girl and I walked around the place. It wasn't that big, quite small and squeezy I must say, and most of the stuff on sale are all female clothing, so not many choices for guys. The only viable clothes for guys were AberCrombie polo shirts, but they were all stripped, and I don't intend to be another GZ,hahahaha. No offence bro. My mum and I just stayed for a while and left for HortPark.

It wasn't all that bad I must say, but the place is extremely secluded, took us quite a while to find the place. But when we reached there, it was cool to see so many plant-related things on display. Here are a few pictures taken there:

These are all plants which make up this big vertical mural, very nice way to displaying them, and I wonder how they irrigate them. (But with the rain, I don't think its a problem :P)

This was one of the exibits, and its hilarious to see recycled kitchen appliances being used as pots for plants. Rice cooker!!

Tea pot pot, hahahaha. Cuphea hyssopifolia if you don't know.

This was nice, because of the colour of the pool. The water jets were the added bonus.

Orchid!!! Hahahaha, very nice colour combination, and it wasn't small as well, very pretty and attractive.

Ixora, they were extremely red and very yellow as well, very ncie in all.

Another Orchid hybrid, love the colour combinations.

Also another Orchid cultivar, Mj's favourite colour, hahaha, nice.

No idea what plant this is, but still nice nonetheless.

Chrysanthemums! Believe it or not, very nice variegation, pretty in pink. =)

Very simple yet nice water fountain.

Portion of the park where plants, water features and gardening accessories were on sale.

Another one of the outdoor exibits, very cute, small purple flowers.

Nice mini landscape, sadly the rainwater mad the the exibit water look muddy. But it was nice all the same.

Cool set of rock benches.

Another cute and simple landscape.

HortPark was extremely crowded, and the rain was erratic, sometimes raining, other times not. And I went over to the NP booth, and guess what, the stuff on display are exactly the same as those from Gardenfest in Suntec. Hahahaha, Chin Hong and Jia Zhen were on duty that time, and Mr Saiful was supposed to meet them 1 hour ago, so much for being punctual. LOL.

So it was a really good day out with my mum, and travelling all around Singapore. A good way to relax after the stressful tests, so now its down to Christmas shopping next week with my mum!! Wooohoooo! Means that I can also get new clothes and stuff, nice!
Hahaha,ok got to go off now, see you people soon!

Ahhhhhhh~
Yes indeed, I'm finally relieved that all the common tests are over and done with, hard to say whether the results will turn out good, but anyway I know I did my best. Had a really hectic week, and time really passed slowly, but today was a really good day.

It wasn't only the last paper, but also finally got to jam wholeheartedly with Rino,Hafiz and Haris(hahaha, I know, all malays, but hey, I like to see myself as a malay with yellow skin :P) Anyways, had a good dinner with them, and all headed over to my crib to have an acoustic jam session. At first, it we started off a bit shaky, but after about 2 hours, we sync-ed together and hada great time playing songs. It was the very first time I had that feeling of having a great time jamming, and I couldn't help myself but smile while playing. Now my fingers are all red and sore, hahahaha, but it was all worth it.

So now it's just down to relaxing and chilling before next week, with the stressful fieldtrip and CWP thing. Oh man, so many things to do, so little time. Ah well, everything'll work out, so I'm going off to bed now, good nightz!

Thursday, December 06, 2007

Hey all! What weather we're having eh. Raining all of a sudden, and for such a long duration as well, gosh, it's really getting cold now. Hahahaha, well, my mum told me what a slow week this time, and I totally agree with her; it's only Thursday, and I can't hold on much longer, hahahaha. Ah well, have to fight through this final week of school and tests and projects, at least its down to the final paper tomorrow, and I have to say that I am not really prepared for it yet. LOL. (Then what am I doing here!?)

Anyways, looking forward to the end of this gruelling week, and I can enjoy for a little while, before going back to school for a 'Study Trip', and with more assignments over the horizon. Hahaha, everything'll work out somehow, so I don't have any worries. Right now, I just want to chill out for a while before revising once again.

So I'm going off now, take care people!

Tuesday, December 04, 2007

A very long day just passed: started at 9am, and just about to end in about 30 mins time. Mrs Rama's lesson was not too bad, and it was off to Botak Jones to have lunch. Supposed to have Mr Saiful's class, fortunately or unfortunately, his class was cancelled, so us guys took a long time to down all the food we ordered, and there were quite a bit of excess of food still left. Guess it's an addition of 3 more kg to my weight, hahahaha, ah well.

So went to Mark's battlefield-like house to relax for a while before heading out to meet Karen and Derrick to revise for my Korean test. It was quite manageable, but come to think of it, I made quite a few mistakes, so I don't know if it'll help. But God is good, and I got full marks for the oral test (so did a few other people), but I'm happy nonetheless. Derick did his absolute best, considering last minute revision, hahahaha, and Karen was just giggling throughout her turn of reading aloud. Derrick, Mr Kwon and myself just laughed along even though it was supposed to be a serious atmosphere. Well, at least its over, so no need to worry about that too much, now it's just down to 2 more papers, and I have yet to revise thoroughly though.

So I'm heading off to bed now, good nights!!
