Well, very first time crashing someone's lecture, and it was the Human Communications class today. Reason was because GZ had to have a group meeting for LD3, and majority of the group was in that class, so I followed them. Initially, had to go home because my mum wasn't feeling well, fortunately, she was alright by the time the rest had class, so I tagged along, and also to experience what the class was about.
Honestly, my first impression of the lecturer was a fierce Secondary school teacher, and indeed, the way she taught was like that of a secondary school teacher. However, the topic was really interesting to me, and I actually learnt a bit, even for that short 1.5hrs. But I can see why the rest were all bored out of their wits during her lessons: she doesn't involve the class, all she does is to hand out assignments, and there's hardly any class participation.
Hahahahaha,I'm so glad I'm not in that class(even though it sounds really interesting), because what she taught just now was what I am already, all cheery and optimistic and smiley and all, so it didn't have any value-added incentive for me to join. Hahahaha, marky, the blame's on you man, hahahahaha. =P

Effective Negotiation presentation went really well in my opinion as well. My class was way before the Human Comm class, but anyways, it was a job well done. Among all the groups who presented just now, of course, ours was the best, and I'm not just saying because it's my group, but also our lecturer said ours was the 'benchmark group'. Hahahahaha, *blushes*, but honestly, our group's was really more engaging, more visually stimulating, and of course, NOT SO WORDY. I won't speak ill of other groups, but all I can say is that their's are really wordy and LONG. Hahahahaha, good job EN group!! =)

Ok, so I'm logging off now, catch y'all soon!

Vegetarian food never tasted so good, and cheap as well. =P

Well, 3rd year is not a cup of tea anymore. We all are very used to be spoon-fed with information, and we used to always ask the lecturers for help when we needed them. Now we're plucked from all our comfort zones and placed somewhere we are unsure of, and it's all up to us to make the grade, whether we get good or bad grades, is all in our hands, and honestly, it's not going to be an easy thing to do. New projects, new assignments, new people to work with, new styles of working as well, hahahahaha, oh man, life is full of new things popping up.

I know it's life and all, and I'm not complaining, but 2 years ago, we were all new year 1's, and we enjoyed poly life. Now it's already getting heated up, so I guess all that's left for us is to help each other out. Year 3 is really going to be tough, but let's stick together and get pass this last academic year!! =)

Friday, April 18, 2008

Oh man, its finally the end of the very first week of school. Well, all I can say is that Year 3 is going to be a really really REALLY hectic year for all of us. All the projects(the main ones) have already been assigned to us, and honestly, I don't know if there are anymore stressful projects yet to come, but the amount we have now is more than enough for me. Hahahahaha, you can really feel the tension when the projects are given to us, but thankfully, I have team members whom I know, and I know how to compliment their style of working, so it's not a total loss.

The only highlight of the week was our fieldtrip to the URA building, to visit the Singapore City Gallery. It was my third time there, so I was quite familiar with it, and the whole place still amazes me, and the time we spent there was just nice, not too long neither was it too short. And of course, like all fieldtrips, a report has to be handed in, so it'll take quite some time to get my report writing portion of my brain to work again, hahahaha.

The worse module we are taking is something called Horticulture Engineering, and as you can infer from the title, it involves engineering. Well, it's actually very simple engineering, but to us HLM people, who only deal with plants and soil, maths and numbers just don't seem to add up correctly(no pun intended). It's been a while since any of us touched any math formula, and today we were all bombarded with basic physics formulae, and even though I took pure Physics in Secondary school, I have long returned the knowledge back to my teacher, who incidentally is also and Indian, and we all call him Mr Mario, because he is a short stout man, with a beard comparable to Mario's, hahahahahahah!! Throughout the class, I could tell those who could handle this module, and those who couldn't, and of course, I'm one of those who border in between the two categories. I needed to refresh my brain to start remembering tonnes of formulae once again, and I don't really enjoy it at all, hahahahha. Oh well, it's part of the criteria to get the diploma, so just go with the flow eh.

Now is the end of the weekdays, and start of the weekends, and thinking ahead, I guess there'll be more challenges to conquer, and more trials and tribulations as well, hahahaha. OK, off to watch a bit of television. See you!

Day 1; 364 to go...

Day 1 of the new academic year. Was quite fine actually, I was so nervous because I'm really all alone in for Monday lessons, but turns out that both classes had HLM people there. My first class was about current world issues and it was a rather interesting module, and the HLM people were all from class 3, and 3 of them as well. 2 were GLs', and the other girl was someone whom I have never seen before, hahahahaha, guess we need to mix around with class 3 more often, and I guess we will, because their timetable is the same as ours now, so it'll be 3 classes all combined together. The lecturer was a really friendly lady, and she was enthu in a subtle manner; not too overwhelming, and not too boring.
Of course, like what Nis said:"it's not as if you were an introvert", and yea, throughout the whole class, I was only 1 of the few who talked the most, hahahahaha. *blush*
But yea, it was interesting, and furthermore, out of 20 classmates, only 5 of us were guys, hahahahhaha. =P

OK, moving on, is my next class called Effective Negotiation, which is essentially a fancy title for bargaining. The HLM people this time round were Chin Hong, Hazwani and Jia Zhen. Honestly, I'm really thankful that there are people whom I know in both classes, phew. So anyways, this module is also interesting, and we already had to do role play already and negotiation isn't as easy as you might think.

So that was the end of the lessons for the day, then headed to meet up with the rest to have lunch and catch up a bit before they left for their last class. I headed to my mum's office to chill out and I got to know someone new in the office, and he's from Project Superstar, hahahahah! I know him personally!! I'll tell you guys tomorrow.
Met up with GZ after his class to go to City Hall together, and we went to play around in Funan, then met up with Rino to go restring my guitar, and headed over to Marina to get some Rastafarian hat for that guy. Take care of the hat!! I sacrificed my head to try on all those silly hats.... -_-'' Anyways, I'll try to miss you, LOL.... Enjoy your camp! =D

That's pretty much the end of my day, and now it's the eager anticipation for Day 2 to begin, hahahaha. See you all soon!!

Warning!~ Extremely cool content ahead

Ok, what's up everyone?! J-Boy here, checking in once more, hahahahaha. I was just sitting at my desktop, wondering what to do(since I'm bored of playing games), so I remembered Alvin(our new cell member) telling me about this cool video about someone playing 'Canon in C' on an electric guitar. So I decided to go check it out, and guess what, it was REALLY REALLY COOL X 1000000!!

But I must warn you, only watch these videos if you have about a quarter of an hour to listen and watch.

This first video is played by a Korean guy by the name of FunTwo, just take a look and be impressed.

I came across this next related video, and I laughed at the start, just watch and see. This is by another Korean guy, and a slightly different version of the song.

Well, in my opinion, FunTwo played better, because his finger movements were much more fancier. I know, fancy fingers might not mean nice and crisp sound, but it impressed me much more compared to the second guy. But both of them have a great amount of talent to play this song in such a manner, hahahaha.

Finally, this final video is a whole compilation of people from all around the world playing the same Canon song with the electric guitar.

Ok, this original classical song was composed by Johann Pachelbel.
The rock version of the song was composed by Jerry C, appearing in the 3rd video at 00:22.(this guy is simply amazing to come up with the tabs for this song), he's the guy responsible for all the background beats in the rock version.

I couldn't help smiling throughout the whole video, because isn't it amazing how a simple song can bring so many people together; all sharing the same passion for the same thing, and all enjoying playing the song. Hahahaha, I guess this is something interesting, and I just want to share this little something with all of you. =)

Selamat Hari Jadi Malynaaaa. =D

Yeah, I know I know, it's already been almost a week since the little birthday picnic, but hey, better late than never right?
Hahahaha, well, last week, the HLM kids had another gathering at East Coast to celebrate Malyna's birthday, as well as just another gathering like we always have during the holidays. Anyways, it was a good day at the beach, although the waters could have been in a better condition, but honestly, not much can be expected from the waters surrounding our little island. It wasn't a very long gathering with everyone, but still it was something before Year 3 starts, by then, the group would be seperated already, because of the weird class alocation system of Ngee Ann Poly. Oh well, it's already done, so no point thinking too much about it. Hahahaha, nevermind, malyna should be glad I'm doing this post for her, hahaha. =)

It was pot luck for our lunch, so we all brought our own good stuff, and it was really delicious I must say. 90% of the food was all fried, furthermore, it was on a sunny afternoon, so I don't think that meal was healthy by anyone's standards, but still yummy nonetheless.

The whole shelter was all for us, muahahahaha.

HAHAHAHA, I took this candid shot of Fie, and it's just hilarious. =P

What for come to East Coast and not get wet? And Nis was dubbed the transparent lady, hahahahaha, don't ask. =P

Drying off in the beautiful sun.

Initially only the 4 of us went to get wet, in the end, after a series of games, everyone else got wet, just wished the water was much cleaner, but it's all good.

Cake cutting session finally!

Group shot with the chocolate cakeeee.

In the end, Ben and me were also dragged into the celebration, because our birthday just passed, so might as well celebrate together. Hahaha, it's sort of 3 months late for mine, but oh well, thanks for celebrating it with us anyways! =)

Cakeee on faceee.

Final shot together before heading home after a long and fun day.

Once again, Happy 19th Birthday Malyna!!

Update update

Oh alright. After so much pestering from ZHC as well as my own conscience, I guess I need to at least write something here, or else it's just a total bore to visit this site. Ok, let's see what happened over the past few days:

Friday got together with ZHC, Rino and Fiz to have a little sing-along session once again. Over at my place this time, and it was a last minute thing, but it was still fun nonetheless. Hahaha, I still have a long way to go to learn how to play the guitar properly, so I guess more sessions like this?? HAHAHAHA. Had a great time that night even though it was only about 3 hours. That was the only thing that happened on Friday.

Now Saturday was a big event: Gerald and Esther's wedding!!!!!!! MUHAHAHAHAHA, finally after who knows how long, this couple has tied the knot. Morning service was over at Marine Parade, and I was one of the ushers for the day. Quite a lot of people turned up ,and my mouth was almost dry by the time the last guest arrived. Furthermore, a few of the youth had a special item for the newly weds', and it was a singing item. We were all bundle of nerves before our appearance, but after that, we got compliments from everybody, well, I guess we did alright with only a few rehersals. So that ended in the afternoon, and at night, it was the banquet dinner at Clark Quay, and the food was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!! Peony Jade Restaurant was our little dining place last night, and the atmosphere was excellent. Food was really good, and everyone enjoyed ourselves totally.
Throughout the whole day, I was thinking how my wedding in the future would be like, and a lot of ideas ran through my 3 pound brain. Hahahaha, oh well, it'll probably be about a decade later before I can walk down the red carpet. I'll post the pictures once I recieve them, because there're A LOT of them.

Just now church service just ended, and it was great. Had a good time with my boys, and there'll be more to come. Lunch was at East Coast with Adrian, followed by a good and long chat on the way home with him. I guess there's still a lot of planning to do when I go out into the working world. Ah well, I just want to concentrate on studies now, and get through NS, then I'll think of what to do.

So ya, those are the events summed up over the pass few days. But what have I been doing during my free time? Well, I have been watching this cartoon called: Avatar, The Last Air Bender. Some of you might have heard it, some might have not, well, it's a really good and funny show to watch, and if you're a cartoon fan like, well, I don't think this cartoon'll disappoint. I have also started playing CnC3 again, because I just want to play it again, and I'm considering whether I should buy the expansion pack for this game. It costs S$89, with a free Razer mouse, with the CnC3 logo imprinted on it(Fie!!! red and black in colour mouse) I doubt I'll get it since I'm saving up now, so I'll wait for the price to drop. Or maybe, just maybe, Mark can purchase it,then I borrow, hahahahahah, just kidding bro. =P

Hahahaha, ok, so this is all for this entry, photos will be up as soon as I get all of them, till then.

PS: Nisa Chan, I'm still waiting for the photos from your camera. =)

Paprika..Paprika..Udang Udang..Paprika, YAY!!

Oh man, it's been a really long time since my last update, and I guess it'll just get boring by the day, hahahaha, ah well, doesn't matter. Anyways, went out just now with the SP guys again, to Cineleisure to catch 'Be Kind Rewind'. It was a simple and nice movie to watch, and the humour is just right, balanced with a message behind the whole movie. Of course, the humour wasn't enough for me, so it didn't make me laugh that much, but still it was alright. Anyways, it was only $6!!! Excellent price. Only at Cine, weekday student discount for movies before 6pm, hahahaha, it's been a really long time since I watched a movie in a cinema, and $6 isn't too bad a way to start.
After that went to Fiz's place to have dinner, a hotplate kind of dinner to be exact. It was slightly last minute, but still delicious nonetheless. It's also been quite a long time since I ate with a big group, and it was really fun. Paprika was the word of the day, and whoever said it, we would all do a wave around the table, hahahaha, even though it was only 6 people, it was 6 crazy people at the table. Hahahaha, it was really fun, and it's been a while since I laughed that much while eating.
After filling up, we had a mini sing along session, and we just played for a while since it was already very late. So that's it I guess, a good day passed, and everything's all fine and dandy.

PS:Fiz's mum makes a really mean mango shake( EXTREMELY DELICIOUS!!), and I finally quit my job. =P
