Holidays, holidays.
Hahaha, it's the holidays! Well, have you all found jobs yet? Or just staying at home rotting away?
Just to let you all know, I finally got a job again after 2 years or so. I'm a writer for a tourism magazine in Singapore, under Madelle Media. Cannot find it on the internet, because the company's website is still in progress. How did I get the job? Well, my dear friend Dickson, put in a good word for me, and I got the job. However, in the process, there was a really informal interview, and it caught me offguard totally, because it was scheduled as a 'meet up' with the other writers, turned out that the boss forgot, and it ended up being the boss, Dickson, and myself, and me under the spotlight. The feeling was something which I rarely experienced in the whole of my life: I was extremely nervous, and the atmosphere was super intense. There're no other words to describe it other than stressful, intense and scary. According to the boss, my interview was really bad, and I agree with him, because I was not prepared in any way, and my answers were not solid at all.
Thank God that Diskson put in a good word for me, if it weren't for him, I would not have gotten the job at all. The boss said he would give me chance to try, but I have to go through a series of training before actually starting work, so I guess it'll extend to the next academic year. Hahahaha, I have no idea how to cope with so many things, but there'll be a way, so no worries!
So what is my job scope? I will be given a topic to write on, and I have to go research on the topic given, and come up with an article for the magazine. I have to conduct interviews if necessary as well. It sounds very intimidating, but I guess it's all part of the exposure, and it will be comething totally new to me.
I'm writing this entry now because I just completed one of Dickson's friend's essay on design. It's something which I have no clue about, and I had to do lots of research on the topic. Being a writer is not an easy thing, and a lto of work has to be put into preparation before coming up with the final piece. Thankfully, we wrote a lot of reports in Poly already, so I just treated this as another report, only twice as long:2000 words. It is really A LOT to write, but I'm really glad I'm done, and I can finally relax my mind.
This is something like a training for myself, and to show it to my boss when I meet him on Thursday for our first training session. Hope he likes it. =/

Now I'm off to meet the SP gang for supper, and it's been a super long time since I met those guys, hope I can keep my eyes open while eating. ZZZZZZzzzzz

PS:Thanks A LOT Dickson, for helping me get this job. I won't let you down!
